A Favorite Things Party is a guaranteed good time. Period. What has now become an annual tradition for me, a Favorite Things Party is such a FUN way to gather your peeps together. I love the way that it can build instant camaraderie with people who’ve never met before as you learn about each other through what they bring or share.

While Favorite Things parties come in various forms, the one standard is bringing your “Favorite Thing” to share. The number of gifts or the price range for each item may vary depending on the hostess. For my Favorite Things Party, I request guests bring 3 of the same item, $10-$15 each.
While some people go over the max price point, no one feels obligated to spend any more than my suggestion. It’s supposed to be lighthearted and FUN, so keeping it a manageable price point I think is being a good hostess. But bottom line, you know your guest list and will know what suits your crew best.
Here are a few tips to help dial in your favorite gift:
- Think of items you use every day or something you save as a “treat”.
- Travel sizes work well for many of the beauty products, especially pricier ones.
- Watch for sales or use that coupon to scoop up your favorite items.
- Think in terms of categories:
- Home Decor
- Entertainment
- Kitchen Items
- Hobbies/Sports
- Food/Beverage
