As a football fan, it’s hard to see the season slowly come to a close. My 49ers are out of the running (boo!), but there have been some fantastic playoff games down the stretch. While many wives are thrilled to get their hubbies back for either weekend outings or to work on their “honey do” list, I enjoy both college and NFL football and honestly get a little bummed that it’s soon to be over.
Having said that, it’s also an opportunity for hosting the Big Game…Super Bowl! Friends, fans, lots of delicious food, entertaining commercials, and hopefully a great game. What’s not to love? Well, for some people who are not true football fans, it’s clearly less about the game and more about all the other amenities of the event.
To keep people invested, I came across a neat way to increase the FUN factor! You’ll see lots of ‘Purchase a Square’ games where you guess the score at the end of each quarter. That will get you engaged at least part of the time. But, this game is all about keeping it exciting throughout the whole Super Bowl game. Wait for it…Super Bowl Bingo!
I’ve taken the liberty of designing bingo cards that coincide with both the game AND the commercials. (Sorry for those of you who will be wishing for a potty break lol). 5 across and you’re a winner! Bingo cards are family-friendly, so everyone can play.
Here are several options for how to play:
1. Buy-In Game
Have a “buy in” such as $5 for your bingo card. It can be winner-takes-all with the first person to get a bingo, or keep the fun going with prizes for 2nd and even 3rd place. This keeps your crowd playing throughout the game.
2. Multiple Winning Patterns
Play one 5-across Bingo for the first prize, then switch to 4-Corners for your second winner.
3. Free-to-Play
No buy in—everyone gets a bingo card. You determine the winning combinations and provide the prizes.
Whether you’re a die-hard fan or just there for the commercials and snacks, Super Bowl Bingo adds an extra layer of fun from kickoff to the final whistle. It’s easy, inclusive, and brings just the right amount of friendly competition to game day.
For those planning a full game-day spread, my Souper Bowl Recipes and Sunday FUN-Day ideas pair perfectly with the action on the field.
If you’re hosting this year and want to mix things up, give it a try! For your own set of free downloadable Super Bowl Bingo cards, click HERE and get ready for a game-day win—on and off the field. Oh, and don’t forget pens (and clipboards, if you have ’em).
That’s a Wrap!
If you host your own Super Bowl party with Bingo this year, I’d love to hear how it goes! Tag me or drop me a note—I can’t wait to see how you put your own spin on game day and make it memorable for friends and family. After all, the best part of the Big Game is sharing it with your peeps!
