A Cheerful Easter Brunch Tablescape for Spring Entertaining

A cheerful Easter brunch tablescape with soft blues, buttery yellow accents, and fresh spring flowers welcoming guests to the table.

A Fresh Start to the Season

The clock has sprung forward, the flowers are blooming (and so, unfortunately, are my allergies), so it must be springtime! Regardless of my itchy eyes and sniffles, I still look forward to the arrival of the vernal season.

To celebrate spring’s return, I wanted to design a tablescape that reflects the cheerfulness and sunshine of the season.

While this table was designed with Easter in mind, it’s perfect for any spring gathering — think bridal showers, baby showers, or even a Mother’s Day brunch — especially when enjoyed outdoors. I leaned into a cheerful palette of soft blues with pops of yellow as an accent color. This winning color combination, paired with alfresco dining, made for a lovely Easter celebration.

Two tables, two different linens — but coordinated colors help them blend together beautifully for a larger gathering.

A Spring Tablescape for Easter Brunch

This year we were hosting a larger group, which meant more than one table was needed to accommodate everyone. It was the perfect opportunity to show that tables don’t have to match exactly — they just need to coordinate.

Think cousins instead of siblings. 😉

Here’s how I pulled it all together.

A closer look at the place settings where the floral tablecloth and butter yellow napkins set the cheerful tone for this spring table.

Setting the Foundation: Table Linens

The linens really set the tone for the table.

Floral Tablecloth
This cheerful HomeGoods find anchored the table and inspired the entire color palette. (Similar to this one.)

Solid Blue-Green Tablecloth
The color blended beautifully with the tones in the floral cloth while giving the second table its own look.

Butter Yellow Napkins
The perfect accent color to play off the blues in the table design.

Layered place settings with Wedgwood plates, blue faux rattan chargers, and polished sterling make the table feel both special and inviting.

Layering the Place Settings

Layering textures and pieces makes a table feel thoughtfully put together without being fussy.

White Plates
Strawberry & Vine by Wedgwood — over 30 years old and still going strong.

Blue Faux Rattan Chargers
These add wonderful texture and help frame the place settings. (Similar color to these.)

Blue Glassware
Found in the bargain bins at Target last year. The shape of these glasses is fantastic and they add just the right pop of color. (Similar shape to these)

Sterling Silverware
Francis I by Reed & Barton. If you’re not using “the good stuff” already, it’s time to polish it up and enjoy it! Not only does it elevate the table, but it’s meant to be used and enjoyed.

Hot TipThe more often you use your silver, the less often you have to polish it.   Cereal with a silver spoon? Why not?!  😉

Easter brunch table — simple layers, spring flowers, and a few thoughtful touches make it feel festive.

The Finishing Touches

My goal was minimal but intentional decor, which made the selections simple.

Porcelain Bunnies
These are from my childhood and I pull them out every Easter. This year they landed on one end of the table.

Faux Moss Bunnies
Reused from a previous year, just styled in a new way. I always love when decor gets a second life.

Silver Salt & Pepper Shakers
Practical with a pop of elegance.

Gold Foiled Chocolate Bunnies
Placed at each place setting, these served as both decor and a sweet little treat for guests.

I also sprinkled a few additional Easter touches throughout to keep things festive.

Fresh spring blooms from Trader Joe’s — hydrangeas, Bells of Ireland, spray roses, and eucalyptus — created a soft centerpiece that floated down the table.

The Star of the Table: Spring Florals

The florals were truly the star of this Easter brunch tablescape.

It was my first time using these acrylic magnetic vases, and I absolutely love how they turned out. The two-piece design allows you to make separate arrangements or connect them — as I did — to create a floating floral display down the center of the table.

All of the flowers came from Trader Joe’s:

  • Hydrangeas
  • Veronica
  • Bells of Ireland
  • Spray Roses
  • White filler flowers
  • Eucalyptus
  • Dianthus Green Ball

The mix created a soft, fresh arrangement that felt perfectly suited for spring.

A few early bites to get the celebration started — fresh muffins and yogurt parfait fixings ready for guests to enjoy as they arrive.

Something to Sip & Something to Nibble

In our family, Easter has traditionally been a brunch after morning Mass. As the hostess, you’re often scooting in the door and want something ready for guests so they can nibble, cheers, and start enjoying the day right away.  Enter my layered buffet, with stations for drinks and easy grazing.

Help Yourself: The Drink Station

I love setting up a drink station because it serves several purposes.

First, it gives guests a clear sense of direction and flow. It also creates that comfortable family feeling of “serve yourself — you’re at home.”  And lastly, it frees up the hostess (moi) to handle all those inevitable last-minute details.

A simple selection of orange juice, iced tea, lemonade, wine, and champagne was ready to go.

A Few Early Bites

Guests usually haven’t had much in the way of food yet, so offering something small to nibble without spoiling the main meal is key.

Fresh baked muffins (no, not by me 😉) and vanilla yogurt with granola and assorted fruit toppings were displayed on my three-tier tray for easy access — and yes, it’s just plain cute.  As my mom always used to say, “It’s all in the presentation.”

The brunch buffet was filled with family favorites, including baked ham, breakfast casseroles, potatoes, and plenty of fresh fruit.

What Was on the Brunch Menu

With the help of guests bringing a few dishes (because no, you don’t have to do it all — shocking, I know), there was a little something for everyone:

  • Baked ham
  • Strawberry Overnight Casserole
  • Breakfast Sausage Casserole
  • Potatoes
  • Fresh fruit

Dessert
Because why not — it’s Easter! (Easter calories don’t count, right?) We also had birthday cake to celebrate my husband’s birthday.

A little time to catch up, laugh, and enjoy the celebration — my favorite part of hosting.

Hosting Tip: Do Yourself a Favor and Prep Ahead

The key to pulling off a brunch like this is planning ahead and doing much of the heavy lifting the night before.

Fruit was sliced, casseroles were prepped, butter and jelly dishes were filled, and the buffet and drink stations were largely set up in advance.

One trick I like to use is placing small notes on empty serving dishes to indicate what items will go where. It removes the guesswork on the day of and makes it easy for helpers to jump in.

When guests start arriving, you don’t want to be worrying about those little details. Doing as much as possible ahead of time allows you to relax, be present, and enjoy the celebration along with everyone else.

The best part of hosting is gathering around the table with the people you love most.

The Best Part of Spring Entertaining

We were lucky enough to have a beautiful sunny day, which made the whole celebration feel even more special.

Good food, a cheerful table, and time spent with family and friends — that’s really what spring gatherings are all about.

Spring celebrations are even sweeter when shared with friends.

Whether you’re hosting Easter brunch, a spring shower, or a Mother’s Day celebration, a fresh tablescape with flowers and a few thoughtful touches can make the day feel extra festive.

And in the end, that’s my favorite part of entertaining — creating a space where everyone can relax, celebrate, and simply enjoy being together.

Good food and good company make every gathering memorable.
